Psychic Trance Fur

The Head CD by Psychic Trance Fur is a collaboration between myself (Koda) and Darren Weight. It is a collection of spacey, psychedelic synth and guitar oriented songs with some lyrics. The project was recorded over a period of seven years (1991-1998) in a barn near Salt Lake City, along with other material released under the Huh? name. The band never played live and split up in 1998, but we are still good friends and hope to collaborate on other projects again in the future.

Album Graphics by Koda

Head (6.7MB)
A psychedelic mind trip that asks what is really going on inside your head.

What Is (7.1MB)
Very spacey, synths and multiple guitars, instrumental.

Love Can't Find Me Here (5.8MB)
Also very spacey, about wanting to fall in love while being afraid to.

Sea of Dreams (4.3MB)
An old woman remembering the innocence of her clildhood dreams.

Hike Like a Tree (7.9MB)
The most popular song from the CD. Learning how a tree deals with stress :)

Electromagnetic Love (7.8MB)
The "phone sex" song, actually about the technology of telephone communication.

Gliding Inside You (6.4MB)
Jazzy instrumental with a couple of tense moments.

Chrome Rabbit on Illuminated Chessboard (3.4MB)
Imagine sneaking into the study of Sherlock Holmes. Instrumental.

Coming Home to Earth (3.1MB)
Originally called "Seas of Neptune," I changed the title when several people duplicated my own impression that it created visualizations of returning to a burned out Earth from outer space. Instrumental.

Goodbye to My Friends (2.4MB)
Written from the bottom of the self pity tar pit. Very brief instrumental.

Wind and Sea (4.7MB)
New Age music. Probably the closest I ever came to arranging a song the way I wanted it, while still not incorporating a few parts due to technical (financial) limitations. Puts you right on the coast as a storm moves through.

Cut From the CD

Someday (4.9MB)
In spite of endless effort and study I could never get a guitar sound I was happy with, and this song was recorded using a new guitar that sounded crappy, which is why it was cut from the Head CD. Great song about remembering old friends and hopes for the future.
Out There (vocals by Kirsten) (3.0MB)
A nice little ballad sang by Kirsten Arce-Loretta, who got divorced, changed her name and disappeared. I couldn't put it on the CD without her permission, and couldn't find her.
